So, what is REIKI?

So, to give you a better idea of what you are getting yourself into, I will explain from my perspective and understanding, since there are many ways to explain Reiki.

The first, thing most ask when they are looking into a Reiki session is, "What is it and is this some type of witchcraft?

I try not to laugh but I understand with new age spirituality on the rise, many ancient teachings like Reiki that have resurfaced in the spiritual community can get a bad rep, depending on the facilitator and their willingness to dive deeper in learning about the origin of Reiki.

I happen to be a nerd, when it comes to researching the origen of most teachings or concepts I am interested in.

So, from my extensive study to you, I will explain some important things I learned about Reiki,

Background of USUI REIKI

Usui Reiki's roots can be traced back to the 18th century. It began as a spiritual development path and healing method, which was developed and named by the Japanese sensei Mikao Usui.

The entire name of Reiki Usui system was called Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho. Word for word meaning Usui Energy Therapy for improving body and mind.

Usui used to call his method the Usui-Do and shared it as spiritual development.

So it would be claimed as an understatement to say Reiki Usui is only a "life force energy" or healing hand method. It's misunderstanding has been spread throughout the West, especially the kanji. It is understandable! Plus through time Hayashi sensei shortened "Shin Kazien Usui Reiki Ryoho" to just Reiki. There are tons of plausible reasons to take into consideration.

Today we can piece together many details of information on Usui's life and map out a very long self-development and spiritual quest.

From studying martial arts to ancient religions like old Buddhism, and Taoisme. He travelled and had various working experiences in his life including in the government. Mikao Usui shows that spirituality is a journey and can't be achieved in a few days... It evolves all through your life once we start.

How does a treatment work?

The practician allows intense energy to flow through their own vessel and through the vessel of the receiver by placing their hands on that person.

Personally, a session with me is based off of my studies of Master Mikao Usui teachings with the self-energy healing exercises that I apply on myself. Since I work and have a strong connection with my crystals. I incorporate them into my Reiki sessions and use them to help intuitively guide the "life force energy" or qi through the chakra vortices.

What does it treat?

Helps the physical and psychological health by awakening the self-healing ability of the receiver. Beyond this Reiki, is a life philosophy, with concentration on personal growth.
